At the age of seventeen Jessica Kovacs was rejected by Esmod International Fashion University for being „too young yet“, so she took her fate in her own hands and travelled to Turkey alone. For several months, she completed a workshop in a small leather factory. During this time in Istanbul, she worked on her first leather collection and learned about the different techniques and leather types. Nine years and different courses - at Central Saint Martins and London College of Fashion - later, she’s back with her more affordable under line J by Jessica Kovacs.

In 2019 she launched the permanent collection BACK TO BASICS.

„The collection is inspired by my love for basics and my personal style, a mix between streetwear and chic“.

Designed to mix & match, you can wear our pieces together as a set or also combine the pants with a t-shirt and the crop top or blouse with a cool pair of oversized jeans.

We believe that good basics are a huge part of every women's closet, no matter the age.
